Dragan Vasiljkovic has appeared at his appeal trial on Tuesday. He has presented his arguments to the judges in Zagreb via video-link from Split. A former Serb paramilitary commander with Australian citizenship was jailed for 15 years by a Croatian court last year for the torture and murder of civilians and prisoners of war in the 1990s. The Supreme Court panel of judges also considered the prosecutor's appeal to the amount of the sentence and the acquitting part of the judgment. The verdict is expected in thirty days, said Mr Savo Strbac, one of the lawyers in Vasiljkovic's legal team, for SBS Serbian Program.
