Few days ago Serbia was galvanized by reports of a shocking school bullying case that took place in the town of Arandjelovac in southern Serbia when three teenagers have bashed a 15 year old schoolgirl and posted the video on social media. This was not an isolated incident. Headlines about bullying and school violence appear with disturbing regularity in the Serbian newspapers. The most drastic was a case of Aleksa Jankovic, 14 years old, who in 2011 committed suicide to escape his bullying tormentors. What is behind such aggressive and tyrannical behavior of children?
