In her presentation on Thursday Ms Jelena Sukuljevic Gerreyn will talk about The "Laza Kostic" Fund. The Fund was established in London by the pianist Marina Milic-Apostolović in 1991 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest Serbian poets of the nineteenth century. Dr. Laza Kostic (1841-1910) was the one of the most important intellectuals of his time. He spoke seven languages; had a doctorate of law in Latin, first translated the works of Shakespeare to Serbian language. The objective of the "Laza Kostic" Fund is the promotion of his work, but also music, fine arts, literature, drama and the Serbian cultural tradition.
