The results of the Sri Lankan presidential election are still being released but according to the results so far reported, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has polled 6,733,406 votes and got 52.39%. (AEST 8.15 pm / Sri Lanka Time on Sunday 17th August at 2.45 pm)
According to reports, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be sworn in tomorrow (Nov. 18) at 11am in Sri Lankan time at Anuradhapura Ruwanwali buddhist stupa.
