Key points of the current COVID 19 situation in NSW for 11 August 2021

Here are the COVID 19 highlights from New South Wales today....

HIGHLIGHTS
  • NSW recorded 344 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
  • Sadly, NSW Health has been notified of two deaths of people with COVID-19. A man in his 30s and a man in his 90s.
  • Dubbo Local Government Area (LGA) will go in to lockdown from 1pm today until 19 August 2021
Things to know.....

  • Everyone in Dubbo Local Government Area must stay at home unless they have a reasonable excuse to leave. They also cannot have social visitors in their home from outside their household, including family and friends.
  • NSW health is noticing some pleasing improvements in Fairfield and some stabilising of case numbers in Canterbury Bankstown – with the strong community response.
  • The edges of the suburbs that border the affected suburbs are seeing higher cases – people in these areas should get tested with even mild symptoms.
  • Of the 62 cases in ICU, 3 are in their 20s, 7 are in their 30s, 6 are in their 40s, 14 are in their 50s, 13 are in their 60s, 16 are in their 70s, and 3 are in their 80s.
  • Of those in ICU none have received two doses of the vaccine. Even one dose gives you good protection.
