Last March, Australian Border Force took asylum seekers Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa from their Biloela home. They have been kept in a Melbourne detention centre ever since. Unless Immigration Minister David Coleman steps in to help, this family could be deported to Sri Lanka at any time. Today (17 May 2019), active campaigners for the family to remain in Australia, including Angela Fredericks, gathered outside Mr Coleman's Revesby electorate office to demonstrate that this family must go home to Biloela.
