Corruption claims and faltering economy influence Malaysian election

As voters head for the polls, ((wed)) political analysts are saying Malaysia’s election is too close to predict an outcome. Persistent corruption allegations, as well as a faltering economy, have plagued Prime Minister Najib Razak and the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition. That has led former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad to return from retirement to contest the vote. If he wins, it would be the country’s first change of government since independence.
