Dr Simon was denied dignity in death

Dr Simon Hercules, Managing Director of New Hope Medical Centre in Chennai, had devoted his life to treating patients, but the community refused him a burial when he passed away on Sunday after testing positive for COVID-19. The ambulance driver and few corporation health officials were injured as the mob threw bricks, stones, bottles and sticks and chased them away despite the presence of police, says Dr Simon’s friend Dr Pardeep Kumar who buried Dr Simon.
