At least 20,000 years old, aboriginal paintings were recently found near a Sydney suburb. There are many more such paintings that have not been 'discovered' yet.


Art and decoration is an integral part of traditional life for Australian Aborigines. There is a variety of paintings done by the first Australians. They vary in type, and in nature.

Community is the most essential fabric of the Australian Aboriginal culture. Kulasegaram Sanchayan introduces the indigenous paintings and talks about ten factors to consider about these paintings as well as presents some of the nuances of this comparing and contrasting with that of the Tamils..
