A postal referendum is currently underway on marriage equality. Kulasegaram Sanchayan brings the multitude of views from various religious practitioners and leaders: Practicing Buddhist Shaktha Amaratunga; Imam Yasser, who serves as the Islamic cleric in Sydney; Parish Priest of St Matthew’s Catholic Parish and Tamil Community Chaplaincy Revd Robert Willaim; Revd Samuel Premarajah (CSI Sri Lanka) served as the priest from 1995 until 2005 at The Tamil Christian Congregation Victoria, a multidenominational faith community under the auspices of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne; Pandit Sai Krishna, a Hindu scholar from India, who has been residing in Sydney for over a year; Rahul Easwar, the grandson of Kandararu Maheshwararu, senior supreme priest of Sabarimala; and Pandit Rami*, Public Relations Officer of Australian Council of Hindu Clergy Inc.
