Protests across India are taking a strange turn after the Indian authorities resorted to destroying the houses of protesters.


The Muslim minority is outraged by derogatory comments about the Prophet Muhammad made by the ruling party's spokeswoman, Nupur Sharma.

Protests have been lasting for weeks, but now local authorities have ordered the destruction of houses belonging to prominent protesters, arguing that they were built illegally.
