Jesuit priest Fr.Savarimuthu Ignacimuthu has been identified as one of the top one percent international scientists in the field of Biology. A recent article by three professors of the Stanford University in the United States has analysed the contributions of more than one hundred thousand scientists from all over the world in biology and concluded him as one of the first one thousand scientist in the field. He worked in many countries including Germany, USA, and Japan. He was the Vice Chancellor of Bharathiar University and University of Madras. As a renowned scientist, Fr. Ignacimuthu has published more than 800 research papers and 80 books; he has 12 Indian patents and two US patents. He has helped more than 100 students to get their doctoral degree. RaySel spoke to Dr. Savarimuthu Ignacimuthu for SBS Tamil.
