Interview with Mr T Puthirasingam

Maheswaran Prabaharan is talking to Mr T Puthirasingam (87 years ), who is now living in United Kingdom. He co-authored a Text Book in Biology initially in English and later in Tamil which were used as the Text Books in Biology for GCSE for the whole of SriLanka. Mr Puthirasingam also wrote several question and answer books in Biology and Science for many classes. Mr Puthirasingam was a teacher at both Jaffana Central College and Jaffna Vaideeshwara Vidyalaya. He was instrumental in starting the Northern Province Science Teachers Association (NPSTA) and was the President of the association for seven years. During this period NPSTA organised common exams (all schools in Jaffna took part) and Science Exhibitions. Mr Puthirasingam then went to Nigeria where he was a Lecturer in Education for six years and also taught Biology in the UK for several years.
