Interview with “Silamboli” Chellappan

Leading Tamil scholar and orator Silamboli S. Chellappan passed away last month. His discourses on the Tamil epic Silapathikaram were popular. He has written several books, including Silamboli, Silapathikara Sinthanaigal, Sanga Ilakiya Thaen and Manimegalai Thelivurai . His discourse on ‘Ravanakaaviyam’ at the Periyar Library Readers Circle is still popular. He got awards from the State government and the Tamil fora in recognition of his contribution to Tamil literature and language. Silamboli S. Chellappan spoke to RaySel in 2012 prior to his visit to “Thamil Osai” event in Sydney.
