Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupedal marsupials that are native to Australia. There are three extant species and they are all members of the family Vombatidae. They are adaptable and habitat tolerant, and are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of south-eastern Australia. One of Australia’s most beloved animals, the wombat, has been at the centre of a great biological mystery: no one could quite work out how their poo becomes cube-shaped. Geetha Mathivanan who presents “Namma Australia” compiles some interesting facts about Wombats. Produced by RaySel.
