Leaders front up to key electorates after debate

The fallout from the signing of a security pact between China and Solomon Islands has led to a war of words between the government and opposition on the campaign trail.

The issue fuelled tense moments at the first leaders debate on Wednesday night - but questions remain as to when the Prime Minister was made aware of the deal, and any action taken in the aftermath.

In the meantime, a blow to Labor's election campaign with Anthony Albanese testing positive for COVID-19.
