Indian civil services examination is perceived as one of the toughest exams in India. Over a million candidates apply for less than 1,000 vacancies. Apparently, Purana Sunthari was over the moon when heard the news that she secured 286th rank. The visually impaired 25-year-old Purana Sunthari from Tamil Nadu has always been resilient in life. "This was my fourth attempt, I devoted five years to this exam," she told SBS Tamil. Purana Sunthari who is working as a clerk in Tamil Nadu Grama Bank for the last two years has been dreaming of passing an IAS exam. IAS officers like Udhayachandran and Sagayam are inspirations, says Purana Sunthari.
