As Australia celebrates NAIDOC week, a panel with three Tamil community leaders discuss about the proposed referendum, the Government’s developmental programmes and the perception prevailing about the Aboriginal communities in Tamil community. Aravindhan Rajaratnam of Mitra Community Empowerment Inc., an independent charity empowering underprivileged communities in Australia. Aravindhan has been closely working with Aboriginal people in Perth. Dr Rama Jeyaraj, Senior Lecture in Clinical Science in Charles Darwin University. As a health professional, he has been working with Aboriginal communities in Northern Territory. Maththalai Somu is a well-known Tamil writer in Australia.
