NSW Parliament recognises as 'genocide'
NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell
Turkey has condemned a move by the NSW Parliament to recognise as genocide Armenian, Assyrian and Greek deaths while Turkey was under Ottoman rule. More than 1.5 million Armenians and hundreds of thousands of Greeks and Assyrians died while Turkey was under Ottoman rule in the early 20th century. New South Wales follows South Australia which passed a similar motion in 2009. Kulasegaram presents in Tamil, the feature by Peggy Giakoumelos.
