The prime minister has apologised to Australians for being, what he called, "too optimistic" regarding coronavirus management and response over the summer. Scott Morrison made a speech to the National Press Club on Tuesday, where he admitted mistakes were made during the pandemic, but stopped short of directly saying sorry for his government's response.
