Prime Minister Scott Morrison has proposed a new national day to celebrate Indigenous Australians in what is being seen as an effort to sidestep growing calls for Australia Day to be moved from January the 26th. It comes as the Byron Shire Council in New South Wales has become the latest in a small group of councils to shift celebrations away from that date. Maheswaran Prabaharan has the story in Tamil, written by Samantha Beniac-Brooks for SBS News.
