Single-use plastics are designed to be used for a short period and thrown away, but they can take a long time to break down and recovery rates are low. We started phasing out single-use plastic bags but there are lot to do. When this will happen? Dr Thavamani Palanisamy, Senior Research Fellow, Global Centre for Environmental Remedation in University of New Castle Australia explains more
