Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has announced that children held in immigration detention on the Australian mainland will soon be released into the community. The families of children under the age of ten will be moved into the community while their refuge applications are processed, after the government approved new bridging visa arrangements. However, the children must have arrived before July the 19th last year to be released and the new arrangements will not include children held on Nauru or Christmas Island.
