Tamils celebrate Pongal at Parliament of Victoria!

Tamils of Victoria celebrated their traditional harvest festival at Vic Parliament on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Tamils traditionally have been giving thanks to the land, the Sun, and the cattle that help them produce essential grains on the first day of the Tamil calendar, Thai. For the first time in Victoria Pongal is celebrated at the Victorian parliament,thanks to the efforts of Casey Tamil Mandram. Renuka brings an overview of the event.
