Aranganathan, fondly known as Thavathiru Kuntrakudi Adigalar became the 45th head of the Kundrakudi Thiruvannamalai Adheenam in 1952. He was called as Adigalar because of his service and also called by the name Kundrakudi Adigalar. He immensely contributed to the development of Tamil and advocated the cause of the backward or suppressed communities in Tamil Nadu and fought against discrimination and untouchability.
