According to the policy note of the Tamil Nadu Government, 61,422 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees are staying in 107 refugees camps in Tamil Nadu. There are 35,316 more refugees are staying outside the camps. Though the vast majority of these refugees are Hindus, they have been left out of the ambit of the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Many of the Sri Lankan Tamils in refugee camps have lived in Tamil Nadu for at least a decade and a half. However, they are not included in the Bill. Maga.Tamizh Prabhagaran, a journalist from Tamil Nadu, visited the refugee camps and presents the feature for SBS-Tamil. Produced by RaySel.
