A dangerous weather system has smashed Australia's east coast

A dangerous weather system has smashed Australia's east coast, with millions warned the worst may not yet be over. There have been thousands of calls for help, as a low-pressure system brought wild, destructive winds of up to 100 kilometres an hour, and icy-cold temperatures. Severe warnings remain in place for five states and territories, with the powerful cold front sweeping through the Nullarbor into much of New South Wales, Victoria's northern fringe, the ACT and south-east Queensland.
