Australia increases visa fees

Fees for Student, Partner, Parent, Graduate and other visas will increase from 1st July, 2017.

The Australian government has increased fees for almost all visas.

The new measures, announced in budget 2017-18 on Tuesday, will come into effect on 1st July, 2017.

“From 1 July 2017 all current Visa Application Charges will be indexed annually in line with the forecast Consumer Price Index (CPI) and rounded to the nearest $5,” according to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

This decision will see Student Visa fee for a primary applicant increase from $550 to $560, and Post-Study Work visa fee for the primary applicant will jump to $1500 from $1470.

The fees for Skilled-Independent and Skilled-Nominated visas will see a $70 increase each and move to $3670.

Partner visa fee will be increased to $7000 for the primary applicant.
