Five Pakistanis who died during the Friday terrorist attack will be buried in New Zealand; the bodies of the remaining four victims will be flown back to Pakistan for burial.
A total of nine Pakistanis lost their lives during the Christchurch terror attack on Friday in which a gunman killed 50 Muslim worshippers and injured dozens more.
Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to New Zealand, Syed Moazzam Shah, told SBS Urdu that authorities are in constant touch with the families of victims and assisting them with the funeral process.

“There are representatives from several countries and New Zealand authorities who are finalising the procedures to help with the funerals to take place here in New Zealand and the dead bodies that are to be sent back to Pakistan and other countries.
"In case a family member or relative who is trying to get in touch with their families here in New Zealand, they can contact us or get latest updates via Ministry of Foreign affairs social media."

Pakistan to observe a day of mourning
Pakistan will observe a day of mourning for the victims of the New Zealand mosque attacks and honour a man who died after trying to tackle the attacker.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Sunday that flags would fly at half-mast.
Mr Qureshi said the foreign ministers from members of the 57-nation Organisation of Islamic Cooperation would meet in Istanbul next week to discuss ways of addressing anti-Islam sentiment.
