Muslims in Australia are celebrating Eid with their friends and family members.
Community events, functions and get-togethers are being held to celebrate one of the major Islamic occasions. First Eid called Eid-ul-Fitr, took place at the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Eid-ul-Adha is the annual occasion which means 'Feast of Sacrifice' .
Sixteen mosques across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia have conducted a special 'rain prayer'.
Family get-togethers have been continuing with special food and treats since the start of the week and likely to continue until the weekend.
BBQ is one of the special food items that is prepared and guests including relatives and friends are invited to join the food festivities. Lamb, goat and cow meat is cooked on charcoal in the form of minced meat, cubes or large portions.
Special bread is also made that compliments the char-coaled meat.

For kids, this Eid was special as they wore traditional clothes and dresses. Special lollies and ‘Eidi (money for toys/sweets)’ was given to them.
Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated across the world. In Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the annual event Hajj is taking place currently where participants are going through religious rituals and practices.
