The wait is almost over with just few days left in the federal election 2016.
The voters had to witness a very long campaign that saw politicians touring the country, announcing their policies, answering – and sometimes ducking – tough questions, and also debating each other.
While that was what politicians were doing, we reached out to voters to ask their views on what they made out of everything happening around them in the days leading up to the election.
Mehreen Javed: I am concerned about health and education sector and my vote will go with the party that pays attention to and invest in them.
Hina Khan: There have been talks about some deregulations in the education sector that will eventually result in an increase in the cost of education. I would not vote for any party that doesn’t control this cost and do nothing to keep it in check.
Alea Rizvi: I think it’s a publicity stunt and gimmick (the idea of having an online debate). You can’t reach the older generation while having online debate.
Ali Waziri: I am still undecided (he said three weeks before the elections). The most important thing for me is jobs and small businesses. I want to know how we are creating new jobs and what small businesses will get.
Hammad Sherazi: It’s good to have an online debate because it engages the country’s youth, but I think they should talk more about asylum seekers.
