Ed Husic and Anne Aly were sworn into their positions during a ceremony at Government House on Wednesday using the Quran as they affirmed their commitment to the new positions.

Dr Anne Aly and Ed Husic have become Australia's first two Muslim federal ministers. The prime minister said his team was "far more representative than any government party room has ever been in our history", and he was working towards gender balance on his frontbench.
