Mawra Hocane is a Pakistani actress who started her career hosting a show at PTV. After working in the radio and theatre industry she turned her attention towards the big screen and made a name for herself not only in Pakistan, but in India as well.
During her recent trip to Australia, she visited SBS Urdu studio in Sydney and had a candid chat with Executive Producer Rehan Alavi.
She told us about her stint with PTV that helped her kick off a career that would see her performing on a theatre, working for a radio company, and as an actress in Pakistan as well as India.

Mawra believes her experience in theatre prepared her well for the big screen which she doesn’t find very difficult.
There are not much bloopers either when working for TV, says Mawra.
The training at the theatre and her good memory have helped her do a commendable job in front of the screen.
Mawra also spoke to us about her family and her sister, and shed some light on why her name is spelled Hocane instead of Hussain.
