PTI supporters are celebrating in cities across the country, including Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and Rawalpindi, with fireworks, dancing and reports of celebratory gunshots.
However, there has been no official claim by the party on winning the elections.
Earlier, a tweet from a PTI’s political leader, Fawad Hussain congratulated the nation on getting ‘new Pakistan’ and claiming ‘Imran Khan, prime minister'.

But his next tweet said that it was his personal analysis based on media reports.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif expressed reservations over the polling process and slammed alleged vote-rigging. In a press conference after the end of polling Mr Sharif has said the mandate of the millions of people who came out to vote has been humiliated.
"We reject this result totally, we totally rebuff it. We do not accept this result. By God, I am a very peace-loving person, I am a person who wants to move ahead. If I am saying this, then you can understand what blatant rigging has taken place at the polling station."
We cannot leave this matter like this; we cannot. Just now, someone was telling me you have won 131 seat in the Punjab (Provincial Assembly), but I told him 'It's not about seats; it's not about government or opposition. It's about the future of this country, it's about the mandate of the people, it's about Pakistan's wellbeing, our posterity. It's a larger issue."
"I am calling a CEC session immediately and we will announce a new plan of action as soon as possible." the PML-N president said.
Shehbaz showed copies of what he said were Form-45 received from polling stations in constituencies of PML-N leaders, alleging that they were incomplete.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan website, the first Form 45 is the result of the count showing the number of valid votes for each contesting candidate and ballot papers excluded from the count.
The Election Commission's secretary Babar Yaqoob has flatly denied allegations of vote count manipulation.

"I immediately came here to respond to you people on this crucial issue, so that no controversy arises without any reason, without any factual basis. There will be further progress on this issue."
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari complained of the delay in results of Elections.
He said the candidates are complaining that the polling agents have been thrown out of the polling stations.
He termed the expulsion ‘inexcusable and outrageous’ in his tweet.
