A Pakistani taxi driver in Melbourne has been jailed for 14 months for sexually assaulting a passenger and will likely be deported.
The sentence was announced by County Court Judge Wendy Wilmoth on Wednesday.
The court heard that an 18-year-old girl and her friend had boarded Hayat Khan’s taxi on June 05, 2015. The girl had consumed alcohol and taken an ectasy pill before riding the cab, reported news.com.au

She also lost her phone within the cab and asked Khan to call her so she could find it.

Using the contact information, Khan called her twice over the next two days asking if she remembered him.
He later told the police that the girl had asked him for sex while her friend covered the camera, and that both girls were drunk.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault.
The court ruled that Khan showed no remorse for his crime and sentenced him to 14 months in jail.
Khan, who came to Australia in 2011, will likely be deported after his sentence.
