Some of Brimbank's newest citizens pledge their allegiance to Australia

More than 106,000 people have been welcomed as new Australian citizens in the last six months and over 27,000 people are marking this Australia Day by becoming Australian citizens – the largest ever number to make the pledge on 26 January. Shamaila Habib is also one of them and she feels her overseas travelling will be easy after getting Australian passport. Currently, she does not enjoy visa-free entry when travelling to Dubai to see her parents. Despite having privilege of Australian citizenship, she has reservations on celebrating Australia day on 26th. January.
