One person arrested for allegedly dispelling the flag of the Republic of Vietnam has "committed suicide" after just one day of detention, according to a statement from the Vinh Long provincial police.


Nguyen Huu Tan, 38, was arrested by police in Vinh Long province on May 2 to investigate the "spreading of anti-state propaganda materials" in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.The police said the whole process of using a suicide knife was recorded by the camera, but the family said that it was difficult to see and not see anything, sokept his body several days to clear up the death, and not cremate as early as expected.Nguyen Huu Quang, the father of the victim, told SBS Vietnamese what happened.
