Former Air Force officer and experienced company director Doctor Kirstin Ferguson has been appointed deputy chair of the ABC board, and will act as the interim chair effective from 28/9. Prime Minister Scott Morrison believes Dr Ferguson can restore stability at the national broadcaster, after a week that has seen the sacking of the its managing director and the resignation of its chairman.
