It may once have been a vision for every Australian child to learn a second language, but in reality language learning has declined in secondary schools.


About a decade ago, there were around 80,000 students studying at similar community language schools across the country.

Today, that number has jumped to over 100,000.

In Victoria, more than 60 languages are on offer.
