Asylum seeker medical treatment bill hits an unexpected hurdle

Plans to change the law to allow asylum seekers held offshore to more easily come to Australia for medical treatment have hit a late and unexpected hurdle. It might scuttle plans to change the law - and cause the federal government severe embarrassment in the process.
