Australians could have several national votes in the pipeline, what with Indigenous constitutional recognition, marriage equality and ditching the monarchy all now on the agenda.
Equality advocate and former Chief of Army, David Morrison AO, has been named as the 2016 Australian of the Year.
Amongst 829 awarded this year were two Australian Vietnamese Nguyen Van Than and Hung Quoc Ly.
