Prime Minister Scott Morrison is being urged to make women’s education a priority of Australia's relationship with the Solomon Islands, after a new report found a shockingly low number of young women are finishing high school in the Pacific nation.

Mr Morrison has made a number of funding announcements during a visit to the Solomons this week, but most relate to infrastructure. Aid agency Plan International has found the female graduation rate there is only seven per cent.
