Australian scientists help crack the wheat genome

Australian scientists have constructed what was long considered an almost impossible puzzle: a map sequencing and assembling the genetic code of wheat. Almost 13 years of research has produced the first detailed road map of the wheat genome, which could lead to improvements in the crop's robustness and yield and could help protect it from threats like climate change.
