From a bedroom-based start-up* to a multi-million company with strong roots in Asia, a group of young Australian entrepreneurs have created something the world's never seen before.

Tucked away in a Sydney industrial park is "Zookal" headquarters.

It's an unassuming location for a start-up that's helped hundreds of thousands of university students, by renting out textbooks.

Its CEO and co-founder, Ahmed Haider, says the team's goal is to make education more accessible, sending 170,000 books in 2016 alone.

He says the growth came out of solving a problem a lot of people could identify with.
