Vigils have been held around the world to remember the 49 people killed in the Orlando gay-nightclub attack.

Prominent landmarks around Australia have been lit up in rainbow colours and the red, white and blue of the flag of the United States.

In Melbourne, about 300 people gathered for a vigil, where they bowed their heads and observed 50 seconds of silence, honouring each of those killed.
