The Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has met with the Vice-President of the United States, Mike Pence, in Washington.
Ms Bishop is the first government minister to visit the White House since Donald Trump became president.
The meeting was used to discuss military strategy in the Middle East and affirm the two countries' relationship.
