Refugee footballer Hakeem Al-Araibi's case has led to calls for a Senate inquiry to investigate the role Australia played in his arrest, and whether more rigorous processes are needed when alerting foreign countries of an Interpol notice.


Australian authorities have admitted to notifying Thailand of the footballer's arrival in Bangkok, before realising he was a refugee - and some say, that's not good enough.
