Dastyari resigns from Senate over China controversy

Embattled Labor senator Sam Dastyari has announced his resignation from parliament amid intense scrutiny over his interactions with a Chinese businessman and political donor. Opposition Leader Bill Shorten had sacked Senator Dastyari from his parliamentary leadership roles last week over his involvement with the donor.
