Singapore will send 14,000 troops to Australia for four months each year up from the current 6000 for six weeks for training.


The Singaporean government will pay $2.25 billion to boost facilities for the troops in the economically depressed Queensland regions of Townsville and Shoalwater Bay, near Yeppoon.
