Mr. Luong Bao Hoa is the first Vietnamese doctor to be licensed in Australia.
He was also the President of the SOS Boat People , Australian chapter, through financial donations so that ships could sail to rescue boatpeople in the 1970s and 1980s.
He died last week due to heart disease and funeral that took place on Wednesday, August 7 this week.
Doctor Lieu Vinh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Medical Association in Australia, said that he knew Dr. Hoa from the early 1980s.
